A helmet is included in the lesson price at both locations. Each additional person in a lesson: +€17 in Tatranská Lomnica, +€10 for 60 minutes and +€15 for 120 minutes in Starý Smokovec.
Tatranská Lomnica
Tatranská Lomnica is one of the oldest ski resorts in the High Tatras, with a tradition dating back to the early 20th century. The resort spans from 888 m to 2,190 m elevation (Lomnické sedlo) with a total of over 12 km of ski runs. The main attraction is the cable car to Lomnický štít (2,634 m), one of the highest cable cars in Europe. Trails of all difficulty levels are available, from green runs for beginners to black runs for experts.
By car: From Poprad (20 min) via E537, from Krakow (2.5 hrs) via the Lysá Poľana border crossing. Parking is available at the cable car base station. By train: Tatranská Lomnica railway station is right in the village, a 10-minute walk to the cable car. The Tatra electric railway (TEŽ) connects Lomnica–Starý Smokovec–Štrbské Pleso. By bus: Regular services from Poprad and Košice.

Starý Smokovec
Starý Smokovec is the oldest and most renowned Tatra resort, founded in 1793. Jakubkova meadow is a ski area situated directly above the village center at approximately 1,000 m elevation. The slope is about 300 meters long with a gentle gradient, making it ideal for teaching children and beginners. The resort is connected to Hotel Atrium, which offers accommodation right at the slope, an ideal "ski-in / ski-out" solution for families.
By Tatra electric railway (TEŽ): Starý Smokovec is the main TEŽ hub, the stop is right in the center. Services run every 30 minutes from Poprad and Tatranská Lomnica. By car: From Poprad (15 min) via road I/537. Parking is available at Hotel Atrium and in Starý Smokovec center. By train: Starý Smokovec railway station with regular services from Poprad (stop on the Košice–Žilina route).

In Tatranská Lomnica there is parking at the cable car base station. In Starý Smokovec at Hotel Atrium and in the village centre. Parking fees are set by the operator, not by us, so we do not quote them here.
By car to Tatranská Lomnica on road E537, roughly 20 minutes. To Starý Smokovec on road I/537, roughly 15 minutes. The Tatra electric railway (TEŽ) has its main hub in Starý Smokovec and services run every 30 minutes from Poprad and from Tatranská Lomnica. Check the current timetable with the operator before you travel.
Starý Smokovec, Jakubkova lúka. The teaching slope is gentle, about 300 metres long, and it has a children's magic carpet, so you never need to use a cable car. We teach children from the age of 3 and a helmet is included in the lesson price. If you can already handle a lift and want the whole resort, Tatranská Lomnica is the better fit.
No. The rental is in Tatranská Lomnica, which is also our official Rossignol Test Center. A complete set of skis, boots and poles costs €24 for one day, €46 for two days and €67 for three days. There is no rental in Starý Smokovec, but a helmet comes with the lesson at both locations. If you need gear in Smokovec, call us and we will sort it out.
We teach in any ordinary weather. We only cancel a lesson when the resort stops the lifts. In that case we refund the full amount or agree a new date with you.
